Tabiba

In Arabic, Tabiba translates to female doctor or healer. Tabiba is a relatively new,  multi-generational women’s drum and vocal ensemble made up of Arabic world music artists, Leen Hamo (Syria/Canada),Maryem Hassan Tollar (Egypt/Canada), Roula Said (Palestine/Canada), and Tara Moneka (Iraq/Canada). Tabiba combines the colours and textures of their voices, traditions and inspirations to create music that heals. The sounds and stories inspired by their collective experience and talent, produces an encounter that is ethereal, haunting, hopeful, beautiful and poignant in the same moment. A fusion of rhythm, sound and poetry reveals the strength and beauty of these women.
